I Am Looking For THREE Additional Partners For My FIP (Financially-Independent Partner) Program - Contact Me If You Are In The Market For A LIFETIME MENTOR
Welcome to Lifetime Mentor.
My name is Steve. I have been an entrepreneur, a mentor, a teacher, and a coach for over 40 years. My journey in what I refer to as "The Recruiting Space" began in 1979, when, as a 20-something lad, I built a very large marketing organization, and learned from the best minds in the business.
Since then, I've been busy.
In the financial world (I'm a Certified Public Accountant with 20+ years of tax experience)
In real estate (I managed 45 single family homes, supervised the accounting department for a 56-property hotel corporate HQ, flipped properties, managed my own multi-housing assets, developed property from raw land, guided many, many clients through the Starker section 1031 delayed exchange minefields, and even served as an accountant during the SEC rigamarole of a 100 million dollar debenture offering (successful).
In the tech world, I became a BBS (Bulletin Board SysOp) in the late 1980's, bandaging together DOS-based Wildcat multi-line, antique SCSI full-height hard drives, 6 disk CD Changers, the Lantastic Operating System, millions of files, Front Door mail "tossing" software... all of which paved the way for becoming a 3 "pop" Internet Service Dialup provider, LARGE BBS SysOp (72-telnet-channel Major BBS Worldgroup Server, running Vircom's Major TCP/IP, Major Radius, Livingston Portmasters, and lots and lots of ancient dialup modems. I've had dedicated servers on the Internet backbone (first Windows NT, then Linux) ever since (17 years now). I also built many thousands of "clone" PCs for my clients, taught small network design, and did a 4 year stretch (jail, really) at a major global response tech support call center, supporting Dell, Gateway (virtually ALL their hardware and OS's), 3com networking products (again, nearly everything from NICs to ISDN routhers to Layer 3 Switches), Comcast Cable, and AT&T Internet.
In the online marketing world, I somehow managed to ram a crazy idea for a course about a REALLY OBSCURE moneymaking technique through a local Internet Marketer's vetting process, went into the recording studio, and came out with a $297 shippable course that sold 8,500 copies over 10 months. You do the math!
That SOLD ME on this ONLINE BUSINESS STUFF in a very big way.
The encore came to me slowly - 6 years - but I persisted.
In February of 2008, I joined Twitter. Added a couple of hundred followers. And did PRECISELY NOTHING for nearly a year. Twitter hadn't "registered" in my head as it doesn't with most.
Then I got "religion" (still not quite sure why) and GOT BUSY. 3 MILLION FOLLOWERS LATER, I am a force in the radically-powerful and rapidly-emerging social media marketing world. I build Twitter and other social assets for some of the wealthiest marketers on the planet. My "short list" reads like a who's who of the entire marketing world (online AND offline) - it almost SCARES ME, just looking at it.
Many of my associates are 7-figure earners. Some are in that lofty 8-figure category. One appears destined to reach 30 million this year - and I helped START HIM, a mere 8 years ago, while he was still in college. The Internet is a very, very powerful place to make money if you get the LEVERAGE just right.
Which ALWAYS requires a mentor. In some way. ALWAYS. No exceptions. (ok, perhaps some savant-level 12-year-old)
In 33 years of analyzing the "business space", a few patterns have emerged:
1. Most aspiring entrepreneurs devote precious few resources to training and development
2. Most CHOOSE THE WRONG business model
3. Most are more likely to win the LOTTERY than enjoy any REAL success (largely because of Number 1 and Number 2, above)
Why is that?
Simple. GREAT MENTORS ARE EXPENSIVE!
The "day rate" (8 hours of his time) for my wealthy marketing partner is $25,000, last I checked. He's worth it! But who has that kind of dough if they are just starting out? The marketing arena is chock full of POSERS - claiming to be mentors, with all the answers - just whip out your credit card, and you are on your way to beach money, umbrella drinks, fast cars, loose women, and all the rest. It rarely works out that way.
We have an acronym for it in our industry - BSO Syndrome (Bright Shiny Object) - novice online marketers are NEVER more than one email away from the very next BSO. It's infuriating. It's distractionary. It's bank account-draining, and bandwidth-usurping, and insidious.
But it IS the reality of our world. Get used to it. And, if you are smart, FIND A MENTOR! And find a damn good one. Or suffer the consequences that all other "mentor-less" entrepreneurs are stuck with: no support, poor planning (if any), rotten choice of behavior / business model, flying BLIND IN A RAGING SNOWSTORM - minor inconveniences, right?
When you've exhausted your resources, and haven't hit on that magical combination of mentor/biz model you are looking for, just look me up. I'm easy to reach.
